Social Architecture

Our research responds to the clear need for safe and affordable housing in many communities. Access to such housing promotes social growth, allowing an improved lifestyle in less economically developed areas. The versatility of Lamina POP has already allowed it to be applied to the construction of homes, schools, warehouses and craft/mechanical workshops.

Pablo was drawn to Lamina POP as a form of social architecture since the use of Lamina POP is not limited to a specific place or community. Due to the economical, practical and light materials it comprises, transporting is easier than transporting blocks. The construction materials do not require specialist sourcing and are readily available across the globe. The ease of construction allows communities to take control and presents the opportunity for individuals to easily construct their own safe homes. The adaptable nature of the construction method also promotes creativity and allows individuality.
